Malacca Road Trip – Nyonya Dumpling, Kuih Kochi and Rempah Udang

After eating chicken rice ball at Chung Wah, we head to East & West Rendezvous to buy their famous nyonya dumpling. Their nyonya dumpling is really tasty but the price went up from RM3.00 last year to RM3.80 per piece. Even the price has gone up, we bought 45 nyonya dumpling from East & West Rendezvous to distribute it to our family members. While we are at East & West Rendezvous, the aunty over there introduce us to one of her famous kuih kochi and rempah udang. Both tasted good and we also bought some back. The price for kuih kochi is RM0.60 per piece and rempah udang cost RM0.80 per piece.

When you over at Malacca, make sure you do drop by at East & West Rendezvous to try their nyonya dumpling, kuih kochi, rempah udang, pineapple tarts and nyonya durian cendol. East & West Rendezvous is located on the same road as Chung Wah Restaurant (60, Lorong Hang Jebat, 75200 Malacca). If you are unable to find the place, give them a call at +6016.634.6283.

We’ve not updated this blog for along time as we were busy with our daily work. Sorry about that. We’ve loads of places to post but we will first post our latest road trip to Malacca. The first stop we went it’s the famous chicken rice ball which is located right before Jonker Street called the Chung Wah Chicken Rice Ball. We were there at Chung Wah Chicken Rice Ball as early as 10.00am because other shops are closed at that time.

Overall, we find the food over here average but there are still loads of people lining up. Stay tune to read more about our Malacca road trip – Nyonya Dumpling, Cendol, Satay, Mille Crepe, Satay Celup!!

Guess most of you have watched the TVB drama series E.U. (Emergency Unit) and love the character Laughing Gor. Laughing Gor is back but this time he will be acting in a movie called Turning Point or also known as LAUGHING GOR. Based on the synopsis from GSC, this movie is a prequel to the highly rated TVB drama series E.U. This movie will be out in cinemas on 20th August 2009. Don’t miss it!

Microsoft Office Online for Free?

News from Google OS Chrome scares Microsoft? This is because Microsoft is planning to offer a free online version of their popular software Microsoft Office. It is said that the new web-based Microsoft Office will be available next year. The web-based Microsoft Office will not have all the features that is included in the desktop version. With the upcoming Office 2010 (Office 2010: The Movie), Microsoft plans to have features that allows users to edit video in PowerPoint and manipulate images in Word (this features will not be available in the free Office).

We guess it’s a wise choice to move Microsoft Office to the web and offer it free. That’s because most people are editing their documents online with free web-based applications such as Google Docs and Zoho. We are currently trying out with Zoho and it’s really cool Try it yourself!

So, let’s see who will dominate the web, Google or Microsoft? Let us know what you think

Maxis iPhone 3G S Comnig Soon!

Sources said that the new iPhone 3G S will be launching in Malaysia by Maxis maybe by end of this month. Can’t wait for it? Register yourself at Maxis website to allow them to update you once iPhone 3G S arrives! We wonder how much will the price of the new Maxis iPhone 3G S be. Less, same or more? Let us know what do you think.

We are actually still not convinced in changing to the new Maxis iPhone 3G S because we found out that we do not use the additional features available and the iPhone OS 3.0 upgrade is really good enough By the way, iPhone OS 3.1 beta is now available for developer community.

Google Chrome OS vs Microsoft

Google announced that they will be launching a new operating system call the Google Chrome OS. The company said that Google Chrome OS will be launching in the second half of year 2010 and it is described as Google’s attempt to “re-think” what operating systems should be. Google Chrome OS will be an open source, lightweight operating system targeted at netbooks. Can’t wait for it?

This is a direct challenge to Microsoft. As you all know, Microsoft Vista OS is unable to run on a scaled-down laptops but as for Microsoft Windows 7 OS, it is said that scaled-down laptops such as netbooks are able to run it. Let’s wait till October this year and see what happens.

Late King of Pop Michael Jackson passed away

We pay tribute to the late king of pop Michael Jackson. It was a sudden and shocked news that we hear the news this morning. He collapsed at his home at around 4.00am Malaysian time and was rushed to the UCLA Medical Center. At around 5.20am Malaysian time, he was pronounced dead. Sources said that he was suffering cardiac arrest.

“A cardiac arrest, also known as cardiopulmonary arrest or circulatory arrest, is the abrupt cessation of normal circulation of the blood due to failure of the heart to contract effectively during systole.

A cardiac arrest is different from (but may be caused by) a heart attack or myocardial infarction, where blood flow to the still-beating heart, is interrupted (as in cardiogenic shock).” – Source from Wikipedia

Michael Jackson will always be remembered by all of us.
