Officially launched in certain countries like US and UK. Sources said that O2 mobile carrier in UK sold more iPhone 3G S than iPhone 3G during the launch. Impressions from the MacRumors forum members said that:- - “…really does seem a lot faster than my 1st gen, and a lot smoother.” - “Video recording alone makes it worth it – the quality’s great.”

During WWDC 2009, Apple launched the new iPhone called iPhone 3G S. What does “S” stands for? Speed or Stupid? The new iPhone 3G S claims to be the fastest and most powerful yet iPhone 3G. iPhone 3G S has longer battery life, a high-quality 3 megapixel auto focus camera, easy to use video recording and hands free voice control. iPhone 3G S will also be equipped with iPhone OS 3.0 which has over 100 new features. iPhone OS 3.0 will be available on 17th June 2009 which is a week away.
As for iPhone 3G S, it will be available only in United States, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, and the UK on 19th June 2009. As for other countries, it will be available weeks and months later.
The new iPhone 3G S will be priced at $199 for 16 GB models and $299 for 32 GB models for new and qualifying AT&T customers in the United States. As for other countries, we will keep you update once we have the information.
We think that the new iPhone 3G S has nothing special or interesting for us to upgrade. Therefore, we will just stick to iPhone 3G and update it to the new iPhone OS 3.0. Just some highlight, the iPhone OS 3.0 include features like Cut, Copy and Paste, MMS, Spotlight Search, landscape keyboard and more.
